Petroleum Engineering Department

The Department of Petroleum Engineering at the University College of Architecture started receiving students wishing to major in petroleum engineering in the academic year 2018-2019 and thus it is considered one of the young departments in Iraqi universities and colleges, but despite the modernity of this department, its ambitions are great to be one of the distinguished petroleum departments at the level of Iraq first, and at the regional level, secondly, in terms of graduating distinguished petroleum engineers who are able to effectively compete in the labor market in all disciplines concerned with the petroleum study (drilling, exploration, stockpiling, and production). The department also aspires to have an important role in implementing and the publication of scientific research, and in the establishment of workshops, seminars, scientific conferences and training courses, because of these activities of great importance in promoting scientific cooperation between the various scientific institutions and companies operating in the oil sector.

الرؤية:

Achieving the department’s mission and objectives in building a petroleum engineer with a distinguished scientific and community personality requires motivating the student to be creative, distinguished, and interested in developing his scientific personality, developing his scientific and social communication skills, and developing his abilities to solve problems that he may encounter in his field of work.

Mission

تتمثل رسالة القسم في تخريج مهندسي بترول مؤهلين ومتميزين قادرين على إثبات أنفسهم في مختلف مجالات هندسة البترول.

Goals:

The objectives of the Petroleum Engineering Department are as follows:

1- اعداد مهندسي نفط مؤهلين تأهيلا علميا عالي المستوى في مجالات الاختصاصات النفطية المختلفة، بما يسمح لهم بالمنافسة بقوة في سوق العمل، وبالمشاركة الفعالة في بناء وتطوير الوطن.

2- التطوير المستم لقدرات الهيئة التدريسية، عن طريق اقامة والمشاركة في الندوات والدورات وورشات العمل العلمية، وعن طريق استقدام الكفاءات العلمية المتميزة الى القسم.

3- العمل على انجاز ابحاث علمية رصينة، والتركيز بشكل خاص على التطبيقية منها والتي يمكن توظيفها في سوق العمل.

4- ترسيخ لدى الطالب القواعد والقيم المعززة لبناء المجتمع وتنمية شخصيته العلمية.

5- Achieving the highest level of cooperation and interaction between the department and similar departments and institutions concerned with the oil industry.
